Brandon and Chris were excellent. The cost for repairs are very reasonable. I paid $159 for cleaning a clogged sink drain.
But what has me super excited about these plumbers is they know Navien tankless water heaters better than another plumbing company. That company gave me a quote of $1200+ for an external pump. Brandon determined that my Navien unit has a pump already inside the unit, and it will cost me only $369 to install a simple part at the sink furthest from the water heater.

The people at Grateful Plumber really went the extra mile to help. I will use them again in the future and recommend them to my family and friends.
I initially contacted Grateful Plumber to get a pump installed in an existing ejector pit and connecting the water and drain to a utility sink in the basement. I was able to get this work scheduled in less than a week from receiving an estimate.
The guys (Brandon and Chris) who can out to work up the estimate brought to my attention that with a part of the basement finished and a lot of other positions in the basement I might want to consider putting a DC backup pump in the sump pit. They also noticed that the drain from the water softener going to the sump wasn't right and found the correct place that had been previously roughed in.
As they were installing the ejector pump, rerouting the softener drain, and connecting the utility sink, I asked the guys if they could work up an estimate for the DC backup pump installation. I was given a ballpark estimate in a short period of time. While the guys were at lunch, the owner (Adam) gave me a call to confirm my desire to have the DC backup pump installed. Then he proceeded to talk me through the installation options so that I could make an informed decision and then gave me the cost for the installation. Then Adam indicated that the guys could install the DC backup pump the same day.
I was thrilled to find out that this additional scope of work could be done the same day! Now I don't have to worry about water damaging the items in the basement. The cost of the installation is cheap insurance to have this peace of mind. This is the best customer service that I have ever received.

All we needed was a left-handed monkey wrench!! My sump pump fried itself on Monday night and my sump pit was getting ready to overflow. I called Grateful Plumber and they had a crew here the same day and actually about an hour earlier than expected. Christian was very professional and had a replacement pump installed and running within a half an hour. Great guys, I didn't catch everyone's name but Brandon was main contact and was pleasant and honest. I shopped around to bigger name company's and was quoted a lot more than I feel was right. He and his associate quickly opened an access to the sewer line, ran a camera through it while I watched, and were able to reassure me that while old there was no sign of collapse all the way out to the city sewer line. The guys were professional & the work looks good. They installed a Waterdrop brand under-sink RO system I had picked out. Though they hadn’t seen this system before they had no issue installing it cleanly & it works perfectly! They also replaced a busted outdoor hose bibb. I liked the look of the hardware they had on hand & am very happy. Will probably have them back out to upgrade our water heater this fall.

The gentlemen (Brandon & his partner) did a great job on installing our new bathroom hardware (double-sink faucets, all new shower/bathtub parts). They were efficient and professional…and very courteous. I would recommend them to anyone looking for plumbers who do an excellent job.

This is the second time I have used The Grateful Plumber and both experiences have been great! This last time scheduled a toilet install and the response was quick, scheduling quick and easy. Adam arrived promptly in the morning and upon arrival measured the "rough in" for the install and informed me the size toilet I had purchased for the job was a standard 12 inch rough in toilet and the space was an unusual 14 inch rough in. Adam went to a plumbing supplier and bought a toilet to fit the job and at my request used the toilet I had purchased to replace the toilet in a second bathroom that really did need to be replaced. Bottom line The Grateful Plumber does quality work at a fair price, no games, no hassles. Adam and his assistant are easy to work with, courteous and do quality, clean, neat work.

I called the company that installed my water heater in 2010 at 4:30 asking how I could shut the water off as the hot water heater was leaking a lot of water at the bottom. They said a plumber would call. Called back at 5:30 - same answer. When no one had called by 6:00, I called Adam at Grateful plumbing, and he helped me immediately turn the four levers to get the water, gas and power shut off and told me to expect more water which I did - but it was manageable. By this time, I had probably caught and emptied 20 gallons of water. He also gave me the name of a company that could help clean up the water on the carpets. I made an appointment with Adam to install a new water heater. I received a photo via text of the Technician so that I would know who to expect. He called to ask if ok that he came a half hour early which was fine and got the job done in a proficient manner. They were very professional and mindful of my house. I would highly recommend Adam and Grateful Plumbing for your next plumbing needs!

Adam, the owner of Grateful Plumber and the third person I called to solve the situation of water on the floor under my water heater, was the only one of the three plumbers who could solve the problem. The first two plumbers determined that the solution was to be replaced the water heater and to charge me $8500 and $5500 respectively. However, Adam came out and did some simple troubleshooting, which the first two never did, and quickly determined that the water heater was fine and that the actual problem that needed to be fixed was a valve on the side of the water heater. Adam’s final cost for the job: $259. So the first two plumbers, without actually diagnosing the real problem, wanted to charge me $8650 and $5500. I’ve lived in Carmel, Indiana for 2 1/2 years now. This lesson taught me that the majority of plumbing companies are sharks who perhaps are more concerned with how they’re going to pay for all of those expensive billboards they have, instead of how to fix the problem. And when you find a real plumber amidst all those sharks, if you’re smart that’s who you use and that’s who you hang onto. So if the person reading this review is smart, they will learn from my experience and not have to repeat it, they can go directly to the Grateful Plumber.
